Douglas B. Clark is a Texas sculptor and painter who specializes in wildlife art. Clark prefers to work from life and his own photographs and field sketches. He can often be found sketching, painting, or sculpting at the Fort Worth Zoo and at the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District as well as at annual events like the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show and The Texas Cutting Horse Futurity. His work may be seen at the John B. Strong Gallery In Santa Fe, New Mexico, Reily Fine Art in Estes Park, Colorado, in Texas at The Gallery at the Frame Up in Fort Worth, David Dike Fine Art in Dallas, Prellop Fine Art in Salado, and the Insight Gallery in Fredericksburg. Clark's work is in both public and private collections. He has a large scale installation of a family of ducks at Watters Creek in the city of Allen, Texas. Douglas has had a lifelong love of both art and wildlife. He has worked to further his art education by attending workshops and classes with masters of both sculpture and painting including Bruce Greene, Martin Grelle, Sandy Scott, Tim Schinabarger, Garland Weeks, Scott Myers and Cynthia Rigden. He is a member of the National Sculpture Society, the Outdoor Painters Society, and the Texas Artists Coalition. |
